I'm thrilled to welcome Jennifer Maloney as our new executive editor for Enterprise. Jennifer is an accomplished business reporter and editor who has delivered major projects, broken important stories, and dominated numerous beats at multiple publications. She is also a seasoned manager and leader who has inspired journalists to great work and has trained and mentored many up-and-coming reporters.
If Jennifer's name sounds familiar, it's because it is. Jennifer worked with us in December as an editor on the tech team for a month. In that short time, she had a major impact — earning accolades from people on that team and beyond for her sharp ideas, surgical editing, and wise coaching. We're excited to have her back with us in a full-time role.
Jennifer will lead our enterprise reporting team and work with journalists throughout the newsroom to go deeper on our core business subjects.
Jennifer spent 14 years at The Wall Street Journal, most recently as retail editor and deputy corporate bureau chief. She broke numerous stories on the rise and fall of vape maker Juul and brought readers inside major companies from Coca-Cola and PepsiCo to AB InBev. One of my favorite Jennifer stories was her scoop on the sunsetting of Tab.
Prior to the WSJ, Jennifer led reporting at Newsday on an investigation into hazardous platform gaps on the Long Island Rail Road that was a finalist for the Pulitzer Medal for Public Service.
She lives in New York City with her family, and when she's not working, she likes to head into nature on a kayak or cross-country skis.
