  • Hannah Neeleman, a.k.a. Ballerina Farm, revealed she is pregnant in an ad for her protein powder.
  • The two-minute short film depicts Neeleman, a Juilliard-trained dancer, watching ballerinas perform.
  • Neeleman previously spoke to Business Insider about raising her eight kids on her and her husband's Utah farm.

Hannah Neeleman, the "tradwife" influencer and co-founder of Ballerina Farm, announced that she is pregnant with her ninth child in a new ad for her protein powder, Farmer Protein.

Neeleman, 35, and her husband, Daniel Neeleman, whose father founded JetBlue Airlines, sell farm goods, including raw milk, bread, and meat, under their lifestyle brand, Ballerina Farm, based in Kamas, Utah. They launched Farmer Protein, which comes in five flavours, in October 2024. The ad appears to be promoting the existing products.

In the almost two-minute-long short film posted on Wednesday, a group of ballerinas from Ballet West, a Salt Lake City-based ballet company, perform on stage while Neeleman watches. As the camera zooms out on Neeleman, her lower body becomes visible, and she reveals a baby bump underneath her checkered maxi dress.

Neeleman is a Juilliard-trained ballerina (which inspired the name of her ranch and social media handle), but quit professional dance after college to be a mom and homemaker. The protein powder ad plays on this narrative, as Neeleman is later pictured, sipping what looks like a protein smoothie, in front of an expansive, mountainous landscape.

Neeleman has over 20 million followers across social media, and her "traditional" lifestyle splits opinions. Some fans find it an inspiration, while others lament what they see as her abandoning her dream career soon after she married Daniel Neeleman in 2011.

She consistently disputes the latter narrative, telling Business Insider in October, "People can say a million nice things about you, and then one negative thing, and it hurts in a way that is just human. But I know who I am, and I know what we're doing, and I believe in that."

In the interview with Business Insider, Neeleman also discussed her approach to parenting the eight kids she shares with Daniel.

"We wanted a business where we could work together as a couple and involve our eight children. I didn't want to have to put them in day care or leave them with a nanny," she said of homeschooling her kids and encouraging them to get involved on the farm.

As the visuals switch from theatre to ranch, Neeleman says in the voiceover: "On this stage, I learned to be strong. And despite what some people think, that strength never leaves you."

Neeleman last gave birth in January 2024 to daughter Flora Jo and famously competed in an international beauty pageant 12 days later. If Farmer Protein is in fact behind this woman's preternatural stamina, maybe we really should all be taking it!
